GORAKHPUR, Aug. 30 -- The impact of the devastating Nepal floods continues to be felt downstream as carcasses, debris and household belongings were swept into Uttar Pradesh's Kushinagar district through the Narayani river, officials aware of the matter said.
Meanwhile, three more bodies were recovered from the Gandak river in the district.
Over the last three days, the authorities have recovered 13 bodies from the river in Kushinagar and Maharajganj districts. Besides, carcasses of deer and fish were reportedly carried by the strong river currents, and a large quantity of debris, along with household articles believed to have washed away from upstream settlements, Ravindra Kumar Singh, CO, Khadda, said.
