Haryana: Khap leaders threaten protest over delay in arrest of accused
Rohtak, Aug. 13 -- Members of a mahapanchayat, khap leaders, and farmer unions threatened to hold a protest at all toll plazas across Haryana on August 14 if the Hisar police fail to arrest all the accused involved in the murder of a dairy operator from Hisar.
The mahapanchayat, organised to demand justice for the slain dairy operator Jeevan Kundu, who was beaten to death on August 4, gave the Hisar police a deadline of August 13 to arrest all the accused. Leaders warned that protests would be intensified if the demand was not met.
