India, Oct. 28 -- A court in Ghaziabad on Monday awarded 20 years of rigorous imprisonment to a 60-year-old man for raping a four-year-old neighbourhood girl at his house in June, 2022, the prosecution officials said on Tuesday.

According to the prosecution officials, the victim and the convict were neighbours in a locality that falls under Vijay Nagar police station. The incident happened on June 8.

"On the day of the incident, the accused lured the girl to his house in the afternoon on some pretext and raped her. The accused was aged 56 at the time of the incident and is now aged 60. The court awarded him 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and also slapped a penalty of Rs.50,000 against him," said Satish Kumar, special public prosecuto...
