Goyal: Exports may rise about 15% in first quarter
New Delhi, July 3 -- Indian exports could see a robust annualised jump of about 15% in the April-June quarter of current financial year, Union commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said on Thursday, underscoring what he said was the country's economic resilience and the resolve of its businesses amid global headwinds.
Speaking at a news channel in New Delhi about India's exports performance in the previous financial year (2025-26) despite the odds, the minister said Indian exports faced 50% tariffs from the US (its largest trading partner), global trade was also hit because of the Ukraine war, and "we had beginnings of the West Asia crisis towards the end of last fiscal year".
