India, Sept. 22 -- The Ghaziabad police on Sunday arrested a 30-year-old man who allegedly pushed his friend from a moving train, causing his death, on September 16, police said on Monday.

Police said the accused committed the crime to avoid an inquiry into a fraud case worth about Rs.1 crore.

Officials from Vijay Nagar police station said the accused and the deceased, 30, both residents of Pilibhit, were travelling to Delhi after being served notices to appear before the CB-CID for questioning.

"A team had gone to Pilibhit on September 9 for inquiry and served them notices. In 2024, the accused had obtained several documents from the deceased on the pretext of starting a business and used them to open a bank account. About Rs.1 crore ...
