India, April 2 -- Police arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly abetting the suicide of a 40-year-old woman after he threatened to make objectionable pictures and videos of her 20-year-old daughter viral, officials said on Wednesday. The accused was arrested on Tuesday.

After a complaint by the woman's husband, an FIR was lodged at Muradnagar police station on March 18 under BNS sections 108 (abetment of suicide) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation).

Police said that a day before the incident, the accused showed her the videos and pictures of her daughter, with whom he was known and threatened to make them viral.
