India, April 5 -- The Left Front, led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist), released a list of 239 candidates for a total of 294 seats in the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections, which will take place in two phases - on April 23 and April 29 - with the vote counting process scheduled for May 4.

The list has a mix of old and new faces, with some prominent names like Sabina Yasmeen, the mother of a 9-year-old girl who died in a bomb blast last year during the Kaliganj Assembly bypoll.
