Family donates organs of daily-wage worker, 28; gifts 4 patients a new lease of life
India, Aug. 12 -- The family of a 28-year-old man, who died after suffering severe head injuries, donated his organs, giving four patients awaiting transplants a chance at a new lease of life.
The man, a daily-wage worker, was carrying out roofing work at his home when he accidentally fell from the second floor on August 9. He was rushed to Dr Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil Pravara Rural Hospital in Loni, where he was treated for severe head injuries. Despite medical efforts, he was later declared brain-stem dead as per established medical criteria.
In their time of grief, his wife and brother agreed to donate his organs.
