DIAL registers police complaint over 'fake' waterlogging posts
New Delhi, Sept. 10 -- The Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) filed a complaint against 63 social media handles for allegedly posting false reports on disruption to airport operations and shared videos and posts that did not "accurately represent the actual situation at the airport" during rainfall on September 4.
Based on the complaint, the police filed an FIR against social media handles for allegedly circulating misleading and factually incorrect posts about waterlogging at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.
Police said the case was registered on September 6 under sections 353 (1b) (making, publishing, or circulating false statements, rumors, or reports via electronic means with the intent to cause public fear or alarm), ...
