India, Aug. 21 -- The University of Delhi (DU) announed roll out of the first batch of its Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP), opening direct pathway for eligible students to apply for PhD programmes without pursuing a master's degree.

DU rolled out its first batch of FYUP under the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) 2022, based on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, in the 2022-23 academic session.

A total of 75,948 students enrolled in the programme in 2022-23. Of these, 40,005 students exited after completing three years in 2025, while 35,943 continued into the optional fourth year, DU said in a release. The data includes
