New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- The Delhi government will add 200 new electric buses and launch an interstate electric bus service between Delhi and Karnal, along with 56 dedicated ladies special services, officials said on Tuesday.
The new buses will bring Delhi's electric bus fleet to 4,938 and the overall fleet to around 6,800, comprising 4,938 electric and 1,750 CNG buses. The new buses include 88 12-metre and 112 nine-metre DEVi e- buses.
Transport minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said the government aims to expand the fleet to nearly 14,000 by 2028-29. "The expansion represents a comprehensive approach to transforming public mobility."htc
