India, Aug. 14 -- Delhi's real estate map could be on the cusp of a major reset. With Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu approving the Delhi Master Plan 2047 on August 12, the capital has laid out its blueprint for accommodating a population expected to approach 32 million by 2047, and the nearly 4 million additional homes that could be needed along the way.
Beyond housing, the plan seeks to reshape how Delhi grows, linking homes with mobility, infrastructure, jobs and environmental priorities. For real estate, that could mean fresh opportunities in affordable housing, redevelopment and commercial development, while bringing under utilised urban land back into play.
