New Delhi, March 19 -- The Delhi government has extended the existing excise policy for another year as work on a new policy is still underway, officials said on Wednesday. The extension means the capital will continue under the 2020-21 policy, which has been extended multiple times under the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and twice under the current Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) dispensation. In an order issued on Tuesday, the excise department approved the renewal and grant of new retail liquor licences for 2026-27 on the same terms and conditions as the current policy.
