India, Aug. 31 -- Around 100 acres of land from landfills at Okhla, Bhalswa and Ghazipur has been reclaimed so far after biomining and processing of 21.6 million metric tonnes of waste, chief minister Rekha Gupta said in an official statement on Sunday.

In the video statement, the CM said the garbage mounds have remained a major problem for the people of Delhi for years. "Around 70 lakh metric tonnes of waste has been processed at Okhla, reclaiming 35 acres of land. At Bhalswa, around 102 lakh metric tonnes of waste has been processed and 45 acres of land reclaimed.
