New Delhi, June 20 -- Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta has recommended the transfer of 39 doctors posted at Tihar and Mandoli jails for five years or more to the lieutenant governor, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, an official said on Friday.
The move is part of efforts to strengthen the administrative framework of healthcare services and make human resource management more effective, she said.
The list of proposed transfers includes both specialist doctors and general duty medical officers. Several of the doctors have remained posted at the same location since 2014.
