New Delhi, May 6 -- Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday expressed grief over the death of a two-year-old girl who fell into an open drain in Mukundpur, Bhalswa Dairy and directed officials to take strict action to prevent such incidents, officials said. Calling the incident extremely distressing, Gupta said negligence of this nature would not be tolerated. The Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) department dismissed a contractual junior engineer with immediate effect. "The safety of every citizen, especially children, is our top priority.
