CM announces WFH, Monday Metro in fuel conservation push
New Delhi, May 15 -- Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to reduce fuel consumption, Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday announced a 90-day campaign 'Mera Bharat, Mera Yogdan' (My India, My Contribution), including a series of measures regarding the functioning of the government.
Addressing a press conference at Delhi Secretariat, Gupta said residents will be encouraged to pledge support for fuel conservation, public transport usage, reduced private vehicle dependency, avoidance of unnecessary foreign travel, and adoption of Indian-made products. "This is not a restriction or compulsion, but a voluntary call to act in the national interest," the chief minister said.
