CM, Union minister launch 18 'oxygen parks' across 185 acres for a green city
New Delhi, June 6 -- Union ministers Bhupender Yadav and Kirti Vardhan Singh, along with Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta, on Friday inaugurated 18 "Namo Oxygen Parks", where indigenous and environmentally beneficial species such as peepal, banyan, jamun and mango trees have been planted.
A total of 185.42 acres across these 18 parks will be developed as green zones, officials said, adding that a large number of saplings are being planted as part of the campaign.
Gupta said the Namo Oxygen Parks are different from ordinary parks as they prioritise indigenous and environmentally beneficial species.
