Centre notifies CAPF Act after Prez assent
New Delhi, April 10 -- The Centre on Thursday notified the Central Armed Police Forces (General Administration) Act, 2026, a day after receiving the President's assent. The legislative department of ministry of law and justice issued the gazette notification.
The CAPF bill was passed in Parliament on April 2.
Earlier in the day, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi issued a statement on CRPF's Valour Day objecting to the new law, and promised to end the discriminatory system if the Congress-led government came to power.
