India, June 17 -- A Mumbai tenant has sought advice on Reddit after his landlord proposed increasing the monthly rent from Rs.48,000 to Rs.55,000, declined to assure a lease renewal and asked him to vacate the apartment despite his willingness to continue as a tenant. The dispute has also raised questions over a Rs.10,000 contribution the tenant made towards installing an air conditioner in the rented flat and whether he has any claim over the amount or the appliance.
