India, Aug. 14 -- KANPUR A 14-year-old Class 8 boy was critically injured after a car struck his bicycle and dragged him for nearly 25 metres in the Kalyanpur area here on Wednesday evening. The alleged driver, who fled the scene after dumping the injured boy by the roadside, was arrested on Thursday following public outrage and the surfacing of the CCTV footage of the incident.

The incident occurred around 6 pm near Awas Vikas-1. The victim, identified as Aadi, was riding his bicycle close to his home when the car rammed into him. The CCTV footage purportedly shows the boy getting trapped beneath the vehicle as it continued moving before finally coming to a halt.
