Bot traffic overtakes humans for the first time in Internet's history
New Delhi, June 6 -- Web traffic from AI agents and bots has surpassed humans for the first time in Internet's history, according to Cloudflare, a leading Internet hosting platform.
"Welp, that happened faster than I predicted," Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare said in a post on X.
"Thought it would be the end of 2027, then early 2027," Prince added "but agentic traffic growing so fast that bots have now passed human traffic online for the first time in the Internet's history". Cloudflare's data [May 30-June 5] shows roughly 57.3% of Internet traffic was due to the result of bots compared to 42.7% from humans.
