New Delhi, Aug. 31 -- Bangladesh and China on Sunday signalled their intention to cooperate on a project to manage the Teesta river and to launch a new strategic dialogue between their foreign ministers as well as a diplomacy and defence dialogue. The moves are unlikely to go down well in New Delhi, especially at a time when Dhaka is yet to respond to the Indian side's invitations to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for a bilateral visit and participation in the upcoming Brics Summit. The Teesta is the only one of 54 trans-boundary rivers for which India and Bangladesh are yet to conclude a water-sharing agreement.
