Noida, Aug. 6 -- The Gautam Budh Nagar District Fee Regulatory Committee (DFRC) has imposed a penalty of Rs.1 lakh each on seven private schools for allegedly violating provisions of the Uttar Pradesh fee regulation Act, during the 2026-27 session, officials said Wednesday. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by DM Medha Roopam on Tuesday. Officials said six schools raised fee beyond the permissible limit of 7.23%, while one school charged annual fee separately from the composite fee and failed to upload 2025-26 fee structure on its portal. District inspector of schools Chandra Shekhar said the schools ignored notices. Officials said recovery certificates will be issued, and proceedings initiated if the fines are not paid.
