India, Nov. 5 -- The Delhi government has found violations at 203 sites and imposed environmental compensation (EC) of Rs.59.15 lakh after inspecting 1,232 construction and demolition (C&D) sites during the first four days of the winter pollution restrictions, official data revealed.

The data, compiled by the Delhi government's environment department, showed that 77 sites were found violating construction norms on Wednesday alone, following inspections at 316 locations. Authorities issued 66 show-cause notices, two closure directions and imposed Environmental Compensation of Rs.16.25 lakh, on Wednesday.
