New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- A 10-year-old girl died after being hit allegedly by a speeding e-rickshaw in Ghazipur, while she was returning home from the school along with her mother, police said. The accused, who fled the spot after the incident, was later arrested, said officials. The girl was a student of Class 5 at a government school, located in Mayur Vihar Phase-3 and lived with her parents in the vicinity, police said. Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) (east) Rajeev Kumar said that the incident took place around 1.30-2pm, when a speeding e-rickshaw allegedly hit her from the front on the Ghazipur-Mandawali road, following which the girl collapsed.
