India, Aug. 24 -- Tamil Nadu minister S Keerthana, the sole woman in chief minister Vijay's TVK-led cabinet, has slammed the "misogyny" behind the political row over a video of a woman wearing a black dress being misidentified as her.

The video, which showed the woman getting out of a car in a dress, was circulated on social media, with several users questioning whether the person was Keerthana. The footage reportedly drew criticism online.

Now, Keerthana has responded to the backlash, clarifying that the woman was not her, while questioning "why should it matter". "For the record: the woman in that video is not me.
