India, Sept. 17 -- The ministry of external affairs on Thursday said that India remains firmly committed to ensuring energy security for its people. The statement came in response to the Russia sanctions bill, passed by the US Congress on Wednesday.

Amid a threat of 100 per cent tariffs by the US, India said it will continue to ensure energy security for its 1.4 billion people through diversified sourcing and based on evolving market dynamics.
