'How can anyone trust him?' SC raps Rajpal Yadav, extends time to pay rRs.r2 crore in cheque bounce cases
India, Sept. 15 -- The Supreme Court on Tuesday extended time for actor Rajpal Yadav to furnish Rs.2 crore within two weeks in cheque bounce cases, even as it said it had no faith in him. It cited his past conduct in the Delhi high court, which sentenced Yadav to three months' imprisonment.
"Knowing his past conduct, how can anybody on earth trust him?" a bench of Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana observed as it took up Yadav's application seeking more time to comply with the September 8 Supreme Court order exempting him from surrendering on the sole condition that he deposits money within 24 hours.
