New Delhi, Aug. 28 -- The number of Covid-19 cases is rising throughout the United States, mainly due to the emergence of the new "Stratus" variant. Many states, particularly in the West and South, are reportedly experiencing increased cases and a higher volume of emergency room visits, including among children. Since its identification in the US in March 2025, the Stratus variant, also known as the XFG variant, has become the most prevalent strain.
