Kathmandu, April 8 -- Nepal's position on the points table of the ICC CWC League 2 cycle (2024-2027) is not much different from what it was during the inaugural cycle (2019 to 2023).

With each of the seven teams in the inaugural League 2 playing 36 matches each, the top three teams progressed to the 2023 World Cup Global Qualifier.

Nepal were placed second-to-last on the points table among seven teams when Monty Desai joined as the head coach in February 2023. And Desai had to ensure his squad won 11 of their last 12 fixtures in the cycle, and entered the Global Qualifier directly as one of the top three teams.
