India, Sept. 8 -- The Union Ministry of Education told NGT that it has issued an advisory to states and Union Territories on safety norms for cement-asbestos roofing sheets in schools.

Uttar Pradesh submitted a report to NGT on the floodplain demarcation of the Solani river using a one-metre digital elevation model and a 100-year return period.

The report said the Solani river floodplain has been notified for Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar districts, and boundary pillars were installed along both riverbanks in February 2025.

NGT directed Delhi Jal Board, Delhi Pollution Control Committee and the SDM, Civil Lines, to respond in a case concerning alleged illegal borewells in Delhi.
