USA firms announce investments in semiconductors, advanced materials, and clean energy in South Korea
India, Sept. 6 -- Four U.S. companies have committed a combined $2 billion (approximately 2.8 trillion won) in direct foreign investments into South Korea.
The investment details were announced by Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE), and KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) during a ceremony in Washington, D.C., USA.
The sectors are: semiconductors, advanced materials, and clean energy.
The participating companies are:
Air Products: Expanding industrial and semiconductor gas supply facilities in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.
Axcelis Technologies: Expanding manufacturing and production capabilities for chip-making equipment.
