India, May 7 -- Blue hydrogen is produced from fossil fuels, typically natural gas, using steam methane reforming or autothermal reforming (SMR or ATR) combined with carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies.
By capturing the CO2 emissions generated during production, blue hydrogen provides a lower-carbon alternative to traditional grey hydrogen, and serves as a critical transitional solution to a hydrogen-based economy. It has the potential to bridge the gap between today's reliance on fossil fuels and a future of green energy.
