India, Aug. 31 -- Semiconductor and Electronics Manufacturing Park at Maduramangalam in Kancheepuram district at a cost of Rs.175 crore, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay said under the Rule 110 in the Assembly on Monday.

Under the a suo motu statement by CM Vijay he said that the park will attract investments of Rs.2,000 crore, and will provide would provide 5000 jobs directly and indirectly while having global-standard research and development facility to establish of new semiconductor manufacturing units. It will be set up through the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT).
