India, Oct. 1 -- The Hyderabad-based space-tech startup is scheduled to launch its 14 kg MOI-1A satellite aboard SpaceX's Transporter-18 rideshare mission on October 2. Instead of simply collecting data and sending it back, the satellite is designed to let customers run Artificial Intelligence (AI) models on Earth-observation imagery while it is still in orbit.

That changes the role of the satellite. It becomes not just a sensor in space, but a computing node.

With MOI-1A, the Hyderabad startup is moving AI inference closer to where satellite data is generated. But the real test is whether computing in orbit can move from an experiment to a viable commercial service.
