Meta launches Muse Code beta with persistent AI subagents for large-scale software engineering
India, Aug. 6 -- Meta has introduced Muse Code (beta), a terminal-based AI coding agent powered by Muse Spark 1.2, as part of its push toward more capable agentic software engineering systems.
The announcement positions Muse Code as a tool designed for large codebases and complex development workflows, where AI agents need to plan changes, modify multiple files, validate results and sustain progress across long-running tasks.
Unlike lightweight coding assistants that focus primarily on code completion, Muse Code is built around an agent runtime architecture that Meta says can coordinate multiple persistent subagents working alongside a main coding agent.
