India, July 25 -- A rack is usually seen as basic infrastructure, but at AMD Advancing AI 2026, Dr. Lisa Su used it to highlight a broader strategic vision.

The launch of Helios, AMD's first fully integrated rack-scale AI platform, was the keynote's highlight. However, the core message was that graphics processing units (GPUs) alone are not enough for the next phase of artificial intelligence (AI). Success will require processors, memory, networking, software, power, cooling, and enterprise applications to function cohesively as a system.

While the first phase of generative AI focused on training larger models, AMD believes the next phase will centre on deploying, managing, and running billions of AI agents efficiently.
