India, Sept. 12 -- The Karnataka government has approved a Rs.35 crore Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hub at IIIT-Bangalore, bringing AI skilling, startup support and advanced research under one platform as the state moves ahead with its proposed AI University.

Karnataka Electronics, IT/BT and Home Minister Priyank Kharge said the Hub is being positioned as the foundation for the university. "Karnataka is laying the foundation for its AI University with the proposed Karnataka Artificial Intelligence Hub at IIIT Bangalore," Kharge said in a LinkedIn post.
