Jharkhand BharatNet gets Rs.1,684 crore for rural broadband
India, Sept. 10 -- The Government of India has approved Rs.1,684 crore in financial support for the rollout of the Amended BharatNet Programme (ABP) in Jharkhand, which will cover 4,395 Gram Panchayats and provide on-demand connectivity to 26,777 villages.
Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN), under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), signed an agreement with the Government of Jharkhand, Jharkhand Digital Infrastructure Corporation Limited (JDICL), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), and Jharkhand Communication Network Limited (JCNL) for implementation of the programme under the state-led model.
