India's semiconductor funding is rising, but capital remains concentrated
India, Sept. 15 -- India's semiconductor sector has attracted about $1.4 billion in cumulative equity funding, with $701 million, roughly half of the total, raised since the start of 2025. Of this, $228 million was raised in 2026 so far, according to Tracxn data. This points to a clear acceleration in funding. But the distribution of that capital presents a more nuanced picture.
Tracxn tracks 3,557 semiconductor companies in India. Of these, 281 have raised funding, including 142 that have raised equity funding. A significant share of the equity capital is also concentrated among a small group of companies.
