India's GCC Boom Enters Its Next Phase: AI, Skills and Selective Hiring
India, Aug. 30 -- India's GCC story is still one of expansion, but the nature of that growth is beginning to change. According to Taggd's GCC Report 2026, India added 101 new Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in 2025. Yet expansion came alongside restructuring, with the report also putting the number of roles cut during the year at around 5,500-6,000.
The numbers are not contradictory. They may, in fact, describe the next phase of India's GCC story better than another record-setting growth forecast: the sector is still expanding, but the jobs within it are changing.
