India, July 30 -- India's semiconductor chip production score is projected to rise from 0% in 2025 to 13% by 2030, but broader technology sovereignty will require sustained investments in Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud infrastructure, software, data centres, skilled talent, and strategic partnerships, according to Forrester's Global Sovereignty Forecast, 2025 to 2030.

While the report projects steady gains in India's semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, it forecasts the country's overall technology sovereignty score to improve only modestly, from 32% in 2025 to 35% by 2030, indicating that chip manufacturing alone will not be sufficient to strengthen technology autonomy.
