India, Aug. 2 -- IBM and Indian artificial intelligence (AI) company Sarvam have partnered to develop and test sovereign AI technologies for government agencies and regulated sectors in India.

The collaboration will focus on AI systems that give organisations greater control over their data, governance, and operations while supporting public-sector applications. The companies said the initiative is intended to address use cases where data security, regulatory compliance, and local control are critical.

IBM and Sarvam will jointly pilot AI applications for citizen services, grievance redressal, document processing, and administrative workflows.
