India, Aug. 8 -- Google is expanding Ask Maps with a new set of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered capabilities that move Google Maps beyond navigation and local search towards completing parts of real-world tasks.

The latest update allows users to ask Maps to find and prepare food orders, compare hotels, discover local events, draw on travel details stored in Gmail, recall previous planning conversations, and provide real-time public transport information.

Google describes Ask Maps as the biggest transformation of Maps in more than a decade. The service combines Gemini model capabilities with Google Maps' location data and real-time information to respond to complex, conversational requests.
