India, April 24 -- Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Ltd announced the inauguration of a semiconductor assembly and test facility in Sanand, Gujarat, India, operated by Kaynes Semicon.

Investors responded positively, with the stock posting an 18.73% gain over the past week and a 38% year-to-date return.

The facility has commenced commercial production of AOS's IPM5 intelligent power modules. The modules integrate 17 dies into a single package for motor controls and energy-efficient appliances.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the inauguration ceremony. The facility implements AOS's proprietary IPM5 manufacturing process and aligns with the India Semiconductor Mission.
