India, Oct. 5 -- Anthropic, the AI company has made Claude Opus 5, Sonnet 5, and Haiku 4.5 available with in-country inference in India through Amazon Bedrock. Requests using the India geographic endpoint can be processed within Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in India rather than relying on global inference capacity.

AWS confirms the underlying architecture. Its India geographic cross-Region inference profile routes Claude requests only between its Mumbai and Hyderabad regions. Prompts and outputs can move between these two regions, but remain within India. AWS also says traffic between them is encrypted in transit.

This is not simply another Claude model launch in India. Claude was already accessible to Indian Amazon Bedrock ...
