India, Sept. 9 -- Acumatica, the cloud ERP company, has opened its first GCC in India with more than 30 engineers. It plans to expand the team but says headcount is not the primary measure of the center's success. The company wants Hyderabad to become an engineering center of excellence, with responsibility for specific products and platforms and a direct role in its global product roadmap.

That also puts the India team closer to one of the biggest changes taking place inside enterprise software: the shift from ERP systems that primarily record transactions to platforms that can interpret data, recommend actions, and increasingly execute parts of a workflow.
