New Delhi, July 30 -- AI startup Sarvam has brought on Devendra Singh Chaplot as an advisor, bringing on board one of the researchers behind several of the world's leading frontier AI models as the Bengaluru-based startup accelerates its ambition to build a homegrown foundation model.

Chaplot has held key roles at xAI, Mistral AI and Thinking Machines Lab, the AI venture founded by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati. His appointment was announced at Sarvam's inaugural developer conference, Epoch 2026 in Bengaluru.
