Filmmaker, director, producer and screenwriter Indrajit Lankesh completes 25 years in Indian cinema, marking a journey defined not only by distinctive storytelling and contemporary filmmaking, but also by his instinct for identifying and giving opportunities to fresh talent who would go on to make their mark across Indian cinema.

Over the course of his career, Lankesh has been associated with several artists at important stages of their journeys. Deepika Padukone made her acting debut with his 2006 Kannada film Aishwarya, marking the beginning of a career that would go on to reach the highest echelons of Indian cinema.
